At least once a week, near the end of our meal, we take turns telling 3 things we are grateful for. For Don and I, it usually revolves around family and being grateful for people in our lives, or something that we feel blessed for that week, but for the kids it can be quite funny listening to the things they come up with. One night a few months back my son Brandon said he was grateful that people have water. Ever since then Don and I look forward to hearing what he's going to come up with since many times it's really out of the blue, yet nonetheless important.
So, I thought it would be kind of cool to do something similar here. Feeling grateful is the beginning to viewing your life differently, in a more positive light. When we start to view things more positively, the change in our lives can be transforming. I would love to hear what you are grateful for in your life!
I am grateful for:
My husband Don - Although it took me a very long time to find him, I will forever be grateful for him being in my life. His unconditional love and support has changed my life tremendously for the better!
For the opportunity to start this blog so that I can a) have a place to process the things I go through each day so that I can come out on the other side feeling grateful and b) share what I've learned along the way that can help so many others and vice versa.
My children - Heather and Robbie, Amanda, and Brandon......these 4 people have proven to me that even though I am imperfect, they love me anyway and think I am the best mom in the world. (Isn't that one of the best feelings as a mom?)
Each week I will give 3 more things I am grateful for...and I would love to hear some of the things you all are grateful for in your own lives.
