- I am grateful that I found a group of people on facebook that is so willing to help others who may be new to Virtual School, and even those of us that have experience but may not have the years of experience that they do.
- I am grateful that I found a second group on facebook specifically for those in the same grade as my son that can offer more specific assistance.
- I am grateful for the conversations I have had with several awesome women in these two groups, because through them I have learned that I am not alone when it comes to helping a struggling child, and have received guidance that has been invaluable to me and my son.
I have had the opportunity to "meet" some wonderful people over the last month or so who are also a part of the Virtual School set. I've never met a group of people that has worked so hard to make sure that everyone that needs help gets the assistance they need, or at the very least points them in the direction of where to go to get the help they need. There are a couple of groups on facebook that I belong to, one specifically for the grade my son is in and another for everyone that is involved in the Virtual School we attend. It is in these two groups that I have learned to accept help, and have been happy to be able to help others. My gratitude journal this week is dedicated to these two groups who have impacted my life so much in such a short period of time:
As the summer is coming to the end, school is either starting for many or just around the corner, and the fall weather is just around the corner. This time of year is really a winding down of the year that we have lived so far, but for me, it's always been a sort of beginning. I don't know why, maybe it's because Fall is my favorite time of the year, maybe it's because the holiday season isn't that far ahead and I look forward to spending more time with family. Whatever the reason, I have alot to be grateful for and so much to look forward to.
With that, the 3 things I am grateful for this week are:
I love all 3 of you VERY much!!!
As I start this week's Gratitude Journal, I think about my mom who is in rehab after major back surgery......I think about my extended family going through their own private struggles, some big and some small.....and I think about my brother, who decided a long time ago to build a new "family". Sometimes life is messy, and it can be difficult to understand where you fit into it all. That's when feeling grateful really helps. Remembering all the good in your life will always help you find your way......
The things I am grateful for are:
Learning to be grateful and thankful for what I do have, instead of focusing on what I don't have. I know that my health issues will escalate over time so learning to keep re-adjusting to accommodate the way things are each day helps me to have the best life I can each and every day.
I am grateful for all of the family I have found in the last couple of years. My step-sisters and step-brother, all of my cousins, and aunts and uncles.....you all will never know how grateful and blessed I am that you have all come back into my life. Every one of you means the world to me, and the light you have within you shines brightly.
I am grateful for all of my step-sons and their wives and children.....you all have accepted me into your family in a way I could have only dreamed of. The love you have for each other, and that you bestow on me, is nothing short of amazing. I truly feel blessed to be a part of your lives and will forever be grateful that you all are a huge part of mine. I love you all!!
I started this Weekly Journal as a way to think about and acknowledge all of the positive things in my life, but I got sidetracked over the summer. Now that the summer is over and school has gotten back into the swing of it, I intend to get back to writing on a more regular basis, including my Weekly Journal.
Thank you for understanding!
